On March 9, one of the most awaited fairs for interior design lovers came to an end: MIAD (Madrid Inside Art & Design). Held in the emblematic Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas, this fair has brought together some of the most influential names in interior design, becoming the perfect setting to discover the trends that will set the course of decoration in the coming months.
From nature-inspired prints to innovations in sustainable textures and materials, the event made it clear that interior design continues to evolve to offer environments that combine beauty, functionality and sustainability.
Below, we explore the most prominent trends in wallpaper and textile home décor that we saw at MIAD 2025 and how some of my own designs can fit in perfectly with these decorative trends.
The connection with nature continues to be key in interior design. At MIAD 2025, we were able to see how botanical prints, natural landscapes and textures inspired by organic elements are consolidating as protagonists on walls and textiles. Firms such as Coordonné and Élitis have opted for wallpapers with lush vegetation, bringing freshness and serenity to spaces.
My proposal: If you love natural motifs, my design "Botanical Bliss Greenery"available at Happywall fits perfectly with this trend. Its delicate leaves in shades of green convey calm and balance, ideal for living rooms or bedrooms where a relaxing atmosphere is sought.
Geometric shapes have proven their versatility in decoration. In this edition of MIAD, firms such as Arte Internacional and Casamance presented collections in which geometric patterns, from subtle lines to more daring compositions, bring dynamism and depth to spaces.
My proposals:
"Contemporary Grey Cube" is a design that plays with geometric shapes and soft tones, ideal for those looking for a modern and sophisticated wallpaper. Perfect for home offices or work spaces that require a contemporary touch without being overwhelming.
"Sage Geometric Charm"geometric design with the green tone of absolute trend Camo Green, ideal to give personality to any wall, with a modern and creative touch.
"Rustic Terracotta Squares"rustic design reminiscent of terracotta tiles with natural clay textures.
"Navy Brick Style Decor" , with simple brick geometry in navy blue, ideal for kitchens or bathrooms.
One of the big bets this year has been the search for textures that add depth to surfaces. Wallpapers with a linen, raffia or even embossed effect were one of the stars of MIAD, with outstanding examples at the Omexco and Wall&Deco stands.
My proposals: "Elegant Vertical Stripes"It mimics the appearance of a natural fabric, offering a warm and cozy finish that adds elegance without overloading the environment. It is an excellent choice for minimalist spaces looking for an extra layer of sophistication.
The color of the year according to Pantone, Mocha Mousse, has become a key element in the decorative proposals seen at MIAD. Earthy tones, such as beiges, soft browns and ochers, have dominated the spaces, creating enveloping and cozy atmospheres.
My proposal: "Earthy Tones Scallop Design"is a design that incorporates these warm tones, providing balance and serenity. It is perfect for rooms where a relaxed and cozy atmosphere is sought, such as bedrooms or living rooms.
Environmental awareness was reflected in many of the products presented at MIAD 2025. Recycled materials, natural dyes and responsible manufacturing processes were some of the most valued aspects of this edition. Brands such as Pierre Frey and Camengo have shown that sustainable design is not at odds with aesthetics.
My proposal: "Vintage Blossom Charm"is a tribute to nature and sustainability. With organic motifs and a soft color palette, it is ideal for those seeking responsible decor without sacrificing beauty.
